we have not racen yet but i want a sure win

Posted by: bradley300

no matter what, if he has the same mods you do, you'll never beat him.

Posted by: Lt250r*68

if you race that shee your f*cked either way

Posted by: Robsuephil

Raptors are much faster while backing up!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: exracer64

sell it....get a 250r.....mod it...then try

Posted by: akraptor

yeah. i would give up trying to beat the banshee if he has about same amount of mods you do. My friend has a 98 Banshee, 14k in mods he has put into it. idk all the mods but i tried it out last week and yeah. once i hit about 3/4 throttle just hold on for dear life. lol raptors are fast. very torquey but can't stand toe to toe to the banshee sorry.

i disagree. my dad has a slip on E-series, k&n, one tooth smaller on the front sprocket, and lastly, Dial-a-jets. At Waynoka he was beating Shee's with Toomey's, k&n, and Reeds. He only lost once they had slight motor mods. Don't know about him racing any boost bottled shees tho, other than that they had the same mod's as your friends and they were at least a length and a half behind. btw this wasn't just one guy it was like five so it wasn't rider error.

In that aspect your raptor is better off cept for the dial-a-jets. oh and his paddles were some weird GoodYear's he got off ebay, they gripped like Sh** until run at like 3 lbs or less which is risky. i think he dragged at 2.

dant waste you tiem i have a 2001 banshee 361 high compression with bills pipes k&n and vforce 3 reeds and boost bottle.. i must sya i ahvent met a bike at the local dunes that can touch me yet.. my predator with pipe and filter dreams of it...
so do all the other 4 strokes.. but the suspension sure does suck balls so give or take.. yer screwed...either way

Posted by: akraptor

listen to Sandaddict. i've seen my friends shee in action and anyone thinkks than can take a well mod shee with a thumper needs to give it up. just not going to happen on the dunes. if you want to beat him. find a bumpy place. shee's front shocks suck.

Posted by: jonc623

you could build one of those jet motors for it then maybe it would beat a banshee

sorry...ain't happenin...

Boost bottles don't do a thing, other than look pretty.

Mod for mod, equal to equal...shees are hard to beat...and hard on your hands if you go over bumps, jumps and berms...

Posted by: Raptorride

i race piped ones and beat them on dirt.

Posted by: Jake250r

well tell me it aint happening, but i've SEEN it and there is something weird about my dad's raptor. it has barely any more mod's than my bros but is a beast compared to it. but like i said, It DID win and i'm NOT wrong.

Posted by: raptorrider686

Alot of it is in the rider too.

Posted by: Jake250r

yeah but thats not it. You can get on my bro's raptor and it's like "well not bad. wheelies easy" then get on my dads and touch the throttle and nearly get thrown off. shocks are the same, tires are the same with about the same tread, and same year raptors. TOTALLY different power.

Posted by: festa171

are they jetted differently? if so your brother probably needs to get his valves adjusted.

Posted by: dajogejr

While I fully believe you can buy two identical bikes off the showroom floor, and have one run consistently better than the other.

I bought two 97 CR 250s brand new, within a week of eachother...

Mine...to me, always ran crisper and better. Period.

But....to say a slip on, air filtered, jetted and sprocketed raptor will beat a correctly tuned, jetted, Piped and K&N'd shee is wrong. Maybe your dad is a great rider, maybe the shee rider isn't.

My bud has a raptor with full Yosh, air filter, hot cam, jetting.

We are within 10 lbs of each other, and have each been riding for over 15 years.

My T5, K&N, Boyesen reed, dynojetted shee beats him hands down, every time. He rides my shee...and after a 2 or 3 minute "get familiar with" rip...results are the same....

I'm not saying you're incorrect...I'm just saying averages are definately against you...that's all...

Posted by: motoxrider519

did your dad and bro both brake them in the same ?? im not sure it that would be it but anythings possible.

Posted by: Jake250r

Well my bro's was used so we didn't break it in, but my uncle's was nearly exactly like it, and then my dad's was totally out front.
power ratings would be like
My bro's- 7
uncle's - 7
my dad's- 9
just as a IMO kind of thing. Any guys that go to little sahara in Oklahoma can feel free to see some proof this summer. we'll be there.

i have a banshee that is bored ported and pipes and the only bike that is a four stroke is modified and running on methanol or alchahol

Posted by: MR.BIG

The banshee is good in the dunes but thats about it. Get that on a track and the 450's will smoke it.

Who cares? He's not trying to race or beat you.

And no one said a darn thing about a 450R either, so why post?

old *** thread

Posted by: raptorrider686

Well stock for stock. The Raptor will win, but, you better get your butt out before he does or he is just going to burry you deeper and deeper. So its important to get ahead of him.

You are so right

The Raptor will win

Posted by: bwamos

IMHO sell the Raptor buy a Banshee and put those mod$ into it.. that you were gonna spend to just "keep up".

And yup.. the Raptor will blow it away in reverse..

Thats becasue the Banshee doesnt have reverse . Just messing. Hopefully you already new that.

I have had three Raptors, a modded Banshee, and a YFZ 450. They are only ridden at Waynoka, OK. The long and the short of it...Unless you have done some slight motor work on the Raptor, such as a Cam, high comp piston, stroked, port/polished, etc, a slightly moddified banshee SHOULD beat you. If you want a 4-stroke that can beat an equaly modified banshee, get a YFZ 450. We have several banshees and YFZ 450s in our group. The YFZ 450s will beat them everytime. (with equal set-ups) full pipes, open filters, re-jetted, good paddles. If a little time/effort/$ is put into a banshee motor though......grab your a** and hold on!!

actualy it was a rocket and he'd prob. be better off with a turbo, any way the sure way to make you bike faster is to take your gas cap off and roll a modded banshee under it, vowala, now you have a fast bike

Posted by: Torrance

push it from behind with banshee

Posted by: Trxracer53

well your pretty much screwed maybe u'de win if your raptor was racing a banshee through trees in a tight woods course. other than that nothings as fast as a banshee in a line. Unless a person with only a right leg is riding it. It is alot of the rider. My buddt beat 400ex's on a blaster and that shouldn't have happened
