will a 86 atc motor fit in my 87 trx frame if so what other parts will work? all help is greatly appreciated.

Motor is direct bolt-in. I think you can also use the swing arm too. The only difference in the rear components are the caliper and mounting bracket. Carrier should also be the same, as long as you are sure the ATC is an 86, not an 85.

thanks for the help i really need that causei got a really good deal on a 86 and didnt know if i should take it.

You can use 85 atc but you have to use the whole assend, and the motor is also a direct bolt in(other than the CDI plug), just throwing that out there for those that might not know. the lower wishbone mount is diffrent from 86 and 87,
