Is it normal for the the bolt that mounts to the top of the spindle (upper a-arm) to not go all the way through the nut? Mine goes about 90% through, thats it. Normal?

Posted by: beak7707

The ball joint bolt wont fit all the way through the spindle, its tapered. I dont know if thats what you are saying or if your talking about you nut wont thread onto the ball joint bolt.

Posted by: sprtrx300ex

I habe the bolt threw the spindle, no problem there. When I screw the nut onto the bolt it only goes in about 90% of the way threw the bolt. I dont want it to come loose, so Im wondering if this is normal?

It sounds like that its the wrong ball joint.

Posted by: sprtrx300ex

heres a pic

Posted by: sprtrx300ex

The end of the bolt is alomost flush with the nut...

Posted by: Jeff@TireBalls

So the other side went all the way through the nut?

Posted by: sprtrx300ex

the bottom went through all the way and then some...perfect.

I just put a picture of the bottom of the top balljoint ^

Posted by: Jeff@TireBalls

so did the top one on the other side go all the way through?

Posted by: sprtrx300ex

yea, it went through the same amout as the other.

Posted by: Jeff@TireBalls

Your answer is confusing. So the other side upper is all the way through the nut?

Posted by: sprtrx300ex

the top balljoint bolt on both sides go through the same amount. They go through about 90% of the way. (almost flush with nut)

sorry for the confusion

Posted by: Jeff@TireBalls

If its into the nylon part of the nut then its fine.

Posted by: sprtrx300ex

Alright, thats what I wanted to hear. Do those balljoints look like normal 400ex LT balljoints?

i appriciate all your help.

Posted by: Jeff@TireBalls

Its hard to tell by the pics, the taper size differences are very slight between different models.

Posted by: sprtrx300ex
