I know there are 100's of posts about this topic but I haven't been able to get the answer I am looking for. I know everyone is saying not to use the 400ex a arms on the 250x. But I want to know is that if I get extended a arms for the 250x can I use just the shock conversion bracket to get the longer shocks. That way I keep all of the corect steering components. I know there has been alot of back and forth on this topic. I just want to go to a longer shock.

Correct, you can use arms that are desigend for the 250X/300EX than add the 400ex length shocks with an adapter bracket. It helps to have the shocks specifically built for this conversion.
