is there any way to put a heat shield on my HMF head pipe. i was riding the other day and my leg touched against the pipe. burnt like 6 holes in my pants. is there any way to put one on there?

yes give HMF a call or go to their website and ask them on their forum..HMF makes a universal type heatshield for their pipes..I am sure it would work on other headpipes too since it is somewhat universal..

I custom painted my stock heat shield last year with heat paint the front part the color of the header(dark brown-black) and faded to the color of the hmf scilencer(red), then in the area of where I wanted the heat shield I wrapped with heat tape. Then I cut 4 of the holes wider on the stock heat sheild so I could slip large hose clamps threw them and then I painted the hose clamps the color of the header, and clamped her on.... Kinda hard to explain, here is a pic.- worked great...
