i'll be coming down to Vegas from the end of february until Apr. 2nd. If I could get some riding in i would bring my quad, so this sounds like a good deal to me. PM me back and maybe we can hook up down there. Thanks

Exriders,
So let me get this right, the only person in Nevada that wants to ride a free track is a man from North Dakota that is visiting on a Polaris? Well, the end of February thru April should be some good riding!!

Do you go out every saturday?
Posted by: yfz450admirer
I go just about every Saturday.
It is very difficiult to find people interested in track or even riding in Vegas. The track I ride is a lot of fun, I just rode it yesterday.
It has a 70 foot double-4th gear (you can land it 40). Two step-down 30 foot doubles. A 80 foot double-4th gear (hard landing at 50 feet). Two step-up 30 foot doubles. 50 foot table top. Rythm section (yet to hit it), whoops and various other small jumps.

Is it still good? all this rain made alot of ruts out in the desert so is the track rain damaged?

The track holds up well to rain.

Is your track up towards Primm?

how's the weather been down there?? I got the quad all cleaned up this weekend and took it out for a spin in the snow just to make sure she was running right. Can't wait to get it down there and have some fun. Hopefully the track is in good shape.

Derrick,
Weather was great last weekend at Dumont, 65 degrees. Las Vegas always has good weather, we have had a little rain this month and last, but that was out of the norm. The track is always in great condition. Shovel work for a few minutes can usually iron stuff out.

Some dude just groomed the entire track last week. The track is smooth now with no stutter jumps. Virtually all of the whoops are taken out. I hit all of the jumps, three of them being 4th gear mid-throttle ventures. I got a neighbor with a clean 02' KX250 to come out, he didn't hit any of the big jumps, but it was nice having someone at the track to give me some feedback.

Vegas is just a little too far away for a casual ride. Towing the trailer down and back, the gas alone would cost me over $200.

Hey man, how was dumont?

well i'll tell you what, i can't wait to get down there and out of this cold weather. Riding on dirt is going to be nice again, since i've been riding in the snow and ice. Looks like i'll be down there on the 21st.

The weekend passed the track was ridden, what's new? One of my friends came to the track this weekend with his YFZ 470. He wouldn't get on the track. Towards the end I convinced him to let me use his machine. The quad ripped, but just had a funky set-up compared to my 400ex, I would definitely have to change the foot-peg position. I launched it off a couple of smaller doubles and a table-top... I don't know how he liked that, but the machine needed to be ridden. The YFZ has some nice stock suspension and power to spare with that 470 kit.

Hey man how's it going?? Well it looks like a few more days until i'm on the road heading that direction. I'll be leaving here on saturday and should arrive there on monday. The quad seems to be running great up here right now, so i'm looking forward to getting it down there. What is the elevation there?? I'm sure i'll have some jetting issues to start with, but those will be short lived. Also is there somewhere that you know of where i can pick up some race gas down there?? Thanks and i'm looking forward to riding with you.

Everything is going good down here. The elevation is 2200 feet. You can buy 100 octane at the 76 gasonline stations for something like $4 a gallon. There is a 76 station at Maryland and Warm Springs and at Windmill and Eastern, and many other locations...

Las Vegas ride with somebody from out of state!!!
I finally got another quad out on the track. Derrick came into town and ripped around the track a few times until some part failures. He followed me around the track, so I didn't get to see him hit any of the jumps. It was awesome to have someone else who would get on the track even if it only lasted for 15 minutes. Where are all of the people in Vegas who ride track!!!

Hey, i finally got my license so i should be able to head out there with you guys sometime soon.

1/3 of the track has been destroyed, but the rest of the track is going strong...
