also, what class is everyone running and on what? im planning on the B class on a 400EX.

Is there a age limit(i'm 29) at Haspin to race the sport class?05 will be my 1st year racing so i was wondering if i should race inthe sport class or maybe in the c-class.
Posted by: jesshamner
There isn't an age limit in the sport class in any series that I know of. Definitely not at Haspin and the GNCCs.
Posted by: Lil - Braff
From what I have heard, there is no age limit in the sport class. Plus if this is your first year racing, you could be in the "novice" class anyway.
Brian... since we didn't get to settle our pink skirt contest fairly last year (which I still say that you lost b/c you didn't show up at any of the races)... is it up again for this year? Even tho we won't be racing the same class... I'm sure we'll be able to find SOME way to settle it. So... what do ya say?
I'll be racing my 300ex in either the sport class or ladies class. (Yes they are having one.) Prolly the ladies class tho. My dad will be racing his c-dale in the B class (I think) and my boyfriend, Adam, will probably be showing up at a few races racing B or C class.
I'm hoping for lots of good weather, less mud, good turnouts, and lots of tight courses too. Hope to see you all there!

Ill be on my Cr125 next year again in the 230 cc an down (little bikes) class. Ill be at all of them again next year. A tighter track would be nice but down there its near impossible. They are gonna bump it up to 2 hours of racing so that will be better for the people w/ more endurance. Really, i dont think i would change much bout down there. Danny could put up a few more arrows in some places because several times this year there would be a place w/ very few arrows. Other than that i think that its a pretty good set-up for just being a local race. More turnouts for the bikes would be nice because i think on average my class had like 7 entrants. Yes Kyrie, you definately need to pray for less mud. Ill be sure to ride out to some of the mudholes an make sure yer not stuck, and ill try to help you out of them.
Posted by: Cdaleracer
Lil-Braff, I will be at some of these races. I will have to run the ladies class though. I would probably have to borrow a quad to race though. I am going 50 inches wide by the first of the year. I would think that is too wide for woods racing.

Down at Haspin 50 inches prolly wouldnt be too wide. Its pretty open down there. Sometimes Danny cuts a new section thats like 30 feet or so thats tighter but other than that it aint really all that tight.

hopefully kyex40047 and i will beable to make a couple of them. ill be racing in the C class, kyex40047 will race pro im sure.

YAY!!! 50 in. is definately too wide for Nationals but for Haspin you should be okay. There might be a few spots that you'll have trouble but I'm sure you could find a way around. I am pumped now!!

i would probley laugh if i saw someone with a 50'' wide quad at a harescramble, lol.
Posted by: Braff1
I have seen some MX quads give XC racing a try only to end up bending a tie rod. Personally I think haspin runs slightly narrower than GNCC. I had more trouble on my Predator (47.5") at haspin then any of hte GNCC tracks I ran last year.
Posted by: Cdaleracer
I wouldn't race my quad there anyways. If I was to break something on the MX quad racing XC, my husband would be a bit upset. Besides, the a-arms were powdered coated, and I wouldn't want to scratch them up on any rocks.LOL He races a Cannondale that is set up for XC. I would race that if he doesn't race. Or like I said, borrow one from a friend. God only knows he has enough to spare.
Posted by: Cdaleracer
Besides, anyone there would probably laugh at me anyways. This would be my first time racing XC. I have no idea what I am doing. I would probably stall it at the line, or it being a Cannondale, not even get it started. Then I would have been left at the line.
Posted by: Braff1
Racing XC is just like racing MX, you go as fast as you can except XC has small obsticles like trees.
Posted by: cady#1
I'll be racing a few in the b class
Posted by: Jonesy
I hope to hit a few of the races up. Prolly run sport or C class. How much does it cost to race up there?
ky300ex and cady#1, where are you all located in northern kentucky?

$15 to get in the park and $20 to race it might be $10 for racers to get in, not sure.
Posted by: Lil - Braff
$15 to get in, and $20 to race. If you bring someone w/ you tho that will not be riding at all and just spectating, be sure to tell them at the gate and they'll only have to pay $10 (instead of $15).

yeah, i lost count of how many times i got lost.
Posted by: cady#1
I have only raced at haspin and was wondering what the layout is compared to other tracks? If i could change 1 thing there it would be more arrows, definatly.
Posted by: kyex40047
The problem with Haspin is that it is a big riding area. There are trials everywhere. As for the other track layouts, there is one path, thats it.Evey once in awhile you will come up on some different ways to go but the right way has been clearly marked. It is a whole lot harder to get lost at other races compared to Haspin.
Does anybody know if that Independence Day Team Race is like the Halloween race they have? If it is then I want to find someone to race with becuase I couldn't race it back in October and it looked like alot of fun.

I will be at every mid south. As for the buddy race, would you race Pro?Thats what I would like to race but if you don't want to, then how about the A class?
Posted by: cliq20
can't wait. i hope to be racing most of these races in 2005.
Posted by: WhiteZee
i think cliq and kyex need to team up for a buddy race.
Posted by: cliq20
that would be fun. i've got a buddy i usually race with and we ran the pro class this past october. i met kyex at the last midsouth. i'm hoping to get a 450R sometime when they come out with electric start. this YFZ is brutal in the woods.
Posted by: brian-250
I'll run with somebody.
Posted by: Michael18
Hey kyex i would team up with you and run the A class if you wanted too. I will be at the mid south on feb. 6th running B class again. Hopefully i wont get stuck on a tree root for ten minutes and you wont get a flat tire this time and we can ride together a lttle more during the race.
Posted by: kyex40047
I wish I would have known that you were stuck. I tought that you were broke down. If I would have known, then I would have stopped and helped you get it off. I 'll see you at the Mid-South in Ky.

hr15, I tried to find Beck's email address for you to give her a shout. It was brought up at the last meeting so it might be worth a shot, especially since it is a growing class. Lil might have the address for you. Good luck.

I know I have been out of touch for awhile but it sounds like I haven't missed a thing. Same ol trash talk and complaints about haspin acres and the series. Ain't it grand.
I will be back this year as only a racer. I am done with the other business of conducting riders meetings and such. I don't know anything about the series this year so cant really answer any questions. I still have the same ol 400EX and have been slowly bringing it back from the few times I got to abuse it last year. I'm sorry I missed everyone at the awards banquet and the last few races. I've got a new job working 7 days a week and have been at it for 5 months now.
Don't know what class I'll be in but probably not pro and I don't think they'll let me in first year, if they let me race at all. I know I'm sick of this long *** winter and looking forward to gettin groovey in the woods. See ya soon.

D Kelsh, now thats a name that rings a bell.
I thought you'd have a new '05 in the garage by now with all the hours you've been putting in. Does the old EX have any new tricks? I haven't caught up with you since the last time you were at Faulk's race, and you almost had it together then. Think you'll have it out for their first race in March? As soon as the weather breaks you, Nate and I will have to find a place and some time to ride!
Matt
Posted by: DKELSCH472
Matt, good to hear from you. Hope your fully recovered from your crash. I guess its good you keep your incidents off the track. Too bad about your jacket. I just talked to faulk about your auto wreck a couple days ago and he said your new jacket is on the way soon. Nothin' too new on the ol 400. Broke Nates heart when I got my triple rates back but I don't think there is any hard feelings. Other than that just some bolt on stuff and a slightly bigger piston. Been getting in some good excercise time at work. Got some free weights hidden in the maintenance crib. I will be at the first moto-x in Liberty, prolly gonna do the announcing though. Lets definately go bust as soon as Nate-dog gets his quad frame back from RC Motosports. Got my days free, who needs sleep anyway. See you sooner.

They do door prizes at the beginning of the races and you can get a plaque depending on how you finish.
