Bel-Ray : Thumper Racing 4-stroke motor oil, 20W50
That is all I will use. JH and redracer44 turned me onto it and it works well for me!

Posted by: mikes450r

never seen it....whats that stuff run per bottle...and what are you using on the other side..

do you think the oil has anything to do with me missing 2nd all the time...

and i do change my oil very often...probably less then 5 hrs on oil...

Posted by: kazpr

I run it on both sides. I think I payed $4 a bottle.

Posted by: mikes450r

thats cool you can run it on both sides..im gonna call around and find some of that

Ya it is nice.

BelRay Thumper is good stuff. I tried both kinds of Honda oil along with the Honda tranny (red bottle) stuff and wasnt satisfied with it. Most of it broke down under hard riding conditions very quickly. I tried BelRay GearSaver in the clutch side and that stuff was crappy in the TRX plus I heard it eats up your seals.

I switched to Thumper and missed my 1st shift this past weekend since I switched to Thumper. It's really good stuff and holds up well, even to the abuse of my built motor. I can usually get 3 races (6 motos including practices) before I change my oil and could probably go longer but oil is cheap insurance.

so you also use20=50 on both sides..

Posted by: RedRacer44

Yup, use it on both sides......works greaattt.

I use regular Honda GN4 10 40. Its what the manual says to use so thats the cheapest insurance to me

i use amsoil in everything.

honda 10-40 syn. without moly, red botle on the other

wow..thats a little much

Posted by: mikes450r

what weights do you use on that maxima oil

Posted by: 400exrider707

I use klotz 10-40 in my EX and my buddy runs Klotz 10-40 in his 450R on both sides. Runs real smooth. It retails for like $9 a quart but we get it for $6.50 at our local dealer so ya cant beat it.
