Any helpful advice would be great. I have a 2001 400ex. Full White Brothers E-Series exhaust. K&N filter, Dyno jet kit. Im looking to get teh most out of her. B4 this spring I plan on adding a rev limiter. Any one have any other suggestions. What about full exhaust systems other than the one I have.
Thanks NIck

The pipe he said or either a LRD or Curtis Sparks. Can always step up the cam, port and polish the head install a higher compression piston, and bigger carb. It all depends on how much and how reliable you want it. Don't count out aftermarket shocks, a-arms, and a axle they make a huge diff. too

Ive heard the HMF slip on with a white bro's headpipe is hard to beat for a pipe.

yeah get a hmf or fat boy or lrd or sparks and trade me your white bros for my nerfs
or sell your pipe and i will buy it

Gotsand,
why are yo uso interested in my white brothers if your telling me to get all those other exhausts instead?
Posted by: got sand?
because those other exhausts are way better and i dont really have the money to buy a new exhaust so thats why i'm asking

go with the 440 big bore kit and a performance cam, mine is being installed as we speak i rode my friends today at the coast its pretty intense if you keep the compression ratio at or below 11:1 you can run premium pump gas. i have the white bros pipe also, if you have an extra $650 lyin around look into the LTE dual exhaust, sounds really good.

What are you wanting to get the most out of it for? MX, XC, TT, or other racing, OR are you just want all you can get for rec? That'll help narrow down the mods you want. Do you plan on keeping it or getting something bigger?

Mostly for MX and dune riding. Ill pry keep it for a couple more years til im out of school.

After addin the pipe, i'd go for a 416 kit in this way you won't have to resleeve, then a 11:1 or a 12:1 piston in it dependin on whether you want to run race gas or not. The stock carb will work plenty good no use changing that. Then i'd add either a web or hot cam stage 2 in it. This way you will still get a lot out of your ex but you won't have to spend as much. You can go and get more if you want to spend more but if you are selling it EX's have lost a lot of value in the selling market so you won't be able to get much out of it even with mods, this way you won't lose as much.

If your White Brothers exhaust is still in good shape I wouldn't drop more money in changing it to a different brand. You will see far more gains by going to a bigger bore high compression piston, a good cam and a port and polish. Also I wouldn't get a rev box unless you build your motor for top end. My motor is built for top end and I'm still contemplating putting on my aftermarket rev box.. I very rarely feel the need to rev it out over the stock limit.

For the 416 kit id have to bore it .080 correct?? My White Brothers is in fine shape. There arent many times that I think Id need the rev box except for when Im playing on the dunes. Will one hurt my all around performance? 11:1 or 12:1 piston. What one is better. Id pry not run race gas unless its going to make that much of a difference.

YOu have to dig into the motor for power.
Race gas is about $4.50 a gallon if you didn't know that and if your quad is built for race gas then that's all you can run, don't think you can put pump gas in it and it run OK.
Go look in the power train section, there are several REALLY good threads goin about 400ex's and built motors...

The fatboy is a great pipe on my 400ex but if you want the baddest 400 on the block get the TURBO white bros. e-series kit. It is $4,400 that is the only bad part. This guy down my street has one and until third gear i can take him(while i am secretly spraying the NOS) but when the turbo gets going its gone his runs over 140 with some different gearing but it is the biggest and baddest upgrade
