The 400ex 2005 have new gear ratios. Ok.
With this new gear ratios, compared with the previous 400ex,
What do you feel in different gears: + torque, - torque, +velocity - velocity ????? What?
What do you think about this new perfomance?

I ride a yfz 450, but just bought the wife a 05 400ex. My brothers have o4 400ex's. I know the countersprocket is a 14 tooth now instead of a 15, but I am still gonna go down to a 13 for my wifes. They feel about the same real smooth. The torque in first is a lot better, but 2nd-5th seem taller. She was in mostly 2nd gear through most of the dunes. Keep in mind hers is completely stock too, but all in all it is just as good, if not better than the 04's. I like the reverse for sure.

its fast, i raced my freind with a 2003 and he has no pipe and myns stock and i sayed right with him

definitley more torque in first gear and like said above 2nd-5th feel taller

never rode an older 400, but i wasnt satisfied with my gearing on my 05, so i dropped to a 13 tooth... its an awesomee bike now, you can see the mods in my sig

my 2 freinds both have 05 400exs and i beat both of them in a drag...i even race more experienced racers on the 05 and still beat them..i wasnt very pleased with the new 400exs...they should have just left them...i loved the look of the older ones much better..honda is just doing wut yamaha has done...making 5 raptors...
