I have a yellow 400ex and these black smudges are appearing in random spots on the plastics...its like they're buffed in or something i rub and rub and nothing happens...Any ideas how to remove them?

You could try some rubbing compound, like you use on buffers, but just buff it with a rag, see how it works.
