i was wondering is it worth bringing your quad to a shop to have the valves adjusted cause mine is about due, i know how to adjust valves on cars, valve lash tightening rocker arms etc... is it something i can do easily?

You can do it....look it up under the tech articles. I think there is a step by step article.
