hey guys i am in the process of getting my top end done of my ex and was wondering how to get off the cylinder. i removed all of the bolts i believed and i know that the cylinder cannot be on there that tight because i have taken off top ends before and when i got the bolts out they wiggled right off. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks a lot guys.

yeah just take the 4 bolts out and wiggle it out. If it won't come out give it a tap with a RUBBER mallet.

Does the 400ex Cylinder not have two 8mm nuts on the right hand side of the cylinder at the bottom? If it does and you didn't take them off..thats why it won't come off.

Remove 4 bolts that hold the cylinder on (under head gasket) and 2- 6mm bolts on lower side of cyl. Rap on the side with a rubber mallet to break loose, then lift off.

I figured it had those 2 bolts on the right side of the cylinder...I see there 6mm ...my XR uses 8mm nuts.
