Wow....you couldnt have ordered better weather for todays race. and it was great to see so many exriders members there!

beware....these guys look suspicoius

Posted by: Pappy

Moose Racing Rep Brian Weber #373 was out on his bike racing for fun.

Posted by: Pappy

what happens when an exrider racer gets hurt? he grabs his camera and camcorder and heads to the track to cheer on other racers! it was good to see him out there in spirit!

Posted by: Pappy

GNCC Pro rider Andy Lagzdins was on hand and chats with a bike rider before the quad start

Posted by: Pappy

Andy was first into turn 1 but a 400ex rider got by him...but it didnt stay that way for long

Posted by: Pappy

Andy stayed to the outside and hammered it. By the next turn he was in 1st

Posted by: Pappy

the next class rounded the 1st turn with this raptor getting the holeshot

Posted by: Pappy

it doesnt matter where you go, Dirtfirst riders are friendly and great riders. its awesome to watch these guys race with each other

Posted by: Pappy

4 stroke B was by far the largest class of the day

Posted by: Pappy

hey thats my little bro on the blue 400

Posted by: Pappy

Andy was first to appear from the first woods section

Posted by: Pappy

my bro wasnt doing too bad. a small tree kicked his *** later in the lap but at this point he was rollin

Posted by: Pappy

my neighbor mike stole his wifes 300ex and went racing he did great for his 1st ever atv race

Posted by: Pappy

the hardpack corners would send you around if you werent careful. i thought he had me

Posted by: Pappy

my bro over shot a small double and almost went over this berm see what showing off will get you

Posted by: Pappy

lol....thats the way...no fear

(ps....you need SSD elkas and she will take them corners MUCH better )

Posted by: Pappy

it managed to get a bit dusty in spots

Posted by: Pappy

i believe my brother is screamin something about trees, rocks, chainsaws and you guys are nuts to race this crap

Posted by: Pappy

I will post more pics after some of the EXR members post how they did and share some stories

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Some nice pics Pappy! You always have good coverage at Tomahawk. It broke my heart today to see how beautiful it was and not be able to race, but without health insurance my wife threatened to do bad things to my quad when I wasn't home if I raced. Oh well I will be back to race in a couple of weeks when I start my new job. looks like I missed out on a good day of racing. I am sure the D-7 boys will be on here to tell us how they did later.

Hey Pappy is great seeing you today and thanks for the Hypers

4st B
Dan Regalia (DrRags) finished 1st, he is in an earlier picture coming around the corner on the 450r all sideways.
Brian Clowser, 2nd, bad luck for Brian he caught a rock in the water pump cover and toasted the motor, but still manged to finish second
James Poole, myself 3rd

It was a sweet track layout today with some great racing.......and Doug with the broken wrist did a great job with my video camera and we have some sweet footage.

Later
James

Another great race. I went out early with some serious arm and thumb pump. This is the last time you will see a thumb throttle on my quad. I'm heading for a twist. The 3 other guys who race B class with me did awesome. My brother got 1st(when he wasn't trying to run over Pappy ),our other buddy Brian got 2nd but blew his motor up (somehow he nocked a quarter sized whole in his water pump cover and she blew out all the coolant, I will give the Yamaha credit for staying together long enough to finish the race.), and James (250RXCrider) got 3rd. It was great seeing everyone who showed up.

Yeah what he said!

I was hoping you got a picture of me all sideways. I saw you standing there at the last minute and thought I would try to carve a nice turn. As you can see, things didn't work out the way I planned.

Posted by: 250RXCrider

Brian's YFZ450 Motor....ouch

Posted by: Pappy

damn that sucks for brian oh well...that which does not kill me makes me spend more money on go fast parts

Posted by: Pappy

a few riders on the gate for B class

Posted by: Pappy

1st turn ...hammer down

Posted by: Pappy

late in the race alot of riders had this section down ...wasnt pretty but they were hitting them

Posted by: Pappy

yeeehawww

Posted by: Pappy

i was surprised when this B rider popped out ahead of Andy he had missed a turn in the woods and cut the course. he did the correct thing and after he was scored for the lap he sat off to the side for around 8 minutes until the bulk of his class cleared the scoring tent.

Posted by: Pappy

i liked this arear for pics but the dust was killing me

Posted by: Pappy

it was tight on the mini track

Posted by: Pappy

there was some nice 400's out today.

Posted by: pgregg85

are they running the mx portion of the track backwards now

Posted by: Pappy

criswell powersports was well represented today

Posted by: Pappy

DoctorRags hanging out for me. it sure looked good till your bumper was in my face

Posted by: Pappy

yfz ripping it up

Posted by: Pappy

i think my lil'bro got 11th...

he said he found tree's on 4 different occasions. he led for a lap and a 1/2 so he did good. his nerf bar finally got tweaked into his rear tire and cost him alot of time getting it "un tweaked"

Posted by: Pappy

that rider on the UTE wasnt giving an inch. i saw him battle bar to bar with a v-force thru the whoops section

Posted by: Pappy

there wasnt much room to turn after that little jump was it

Posted by: Pappy

mike managed to clear that reversed double on his 300

Posted by: Pappy

i was happy to see no major wrecks on that freestyle landing /hillclimb thing

Posted by: Pappy

i didnt walk up it but it seemed fairly steep

Posted by: Pappy

the v force's seemed out of place today? the riders had thier handsfull on the tight offcambers tomahawk offers

Posted by: Pappy

there were several riders taken by surpise on some of the lips on the jumps

Posted by: Pappy

how did you guys like the track being run backwards? looked a bit awkward at first

Posted by: Pappy

other then a touch of dust it was almost perfect to race in

Posted by: Pappy

the sun caught some water droplets ...pretty cool

it didnt seem to muddy tho?

Posted by: Pappy

another of the Dirtfirst crew!

Posted by: Pappy

this rider works his way thru a tight section. you can see a good portion of the mx layout in the back ground

Posted by: Pappy

well thats about all i have fellers. it was cool chatting with you guys. you all will have to come up and spend the day and afterwards come kick it at my place for some beer and steaks on the grill!

Posted by: DoctorRags

Pappy, once again, great jobs on the pics. I'm glad to see you got me carving the nice turn before I got out of control.

Yeah, it sucked that Brian's motor broke, we both got a good jump off the line and I thought we were going to battle for the entire race. I'm just afraid to see what his motor re-build will consist of. I think the rule is "There's no sense putting it back to stock!".

Running the track backwards was nice for a change. I think there was a thread on this board about Tomahawk needing to add some new lines. This was a good start...something different.

About the rider(s) that cut the course, I heard he didn't admit to it at the end of the race and accepted his first place plaque. It was until someone from our camp spoke up and said something that they realized there was a scoring mistake. I also heard that he left with his first place plaque. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't hang that on my wall.

Good to see everyone again, just hoping the turnout would have been better.

Posted by: DoctorRags

Hey James, do you have any good pics you can post. You may need to resize them.

Posted by: 400exvet

that pic and video stuff is for the birds (well...not you pappy) I wanna race. I'm (supposed) to have the cast on for another 3 weeks . I did a little ridin over the weekend and can work the clutch O.K. but the vibration and bumpage makes it swell inside the cast...not good . I hope I did O.K. on the video, I never could figure out that dam camera.
Eric, first of all...up yours pal..I got your limp wrist right here, behind a handfull of knuckles along side yo head...haha. now I need to know what to sign the boy up for at F.O.M.? It will be his first race, he is 7, he has a stock 50cc Eton. Will he need an AMA card? a district card?

LMAO
The little guy will need an AMA card and that is it. I think FOTM is a tough course for a first race. You may want to consider Flying Dutchman as a starter track. JM.02 Good luck I should be at the Delaware race. I wonder if they are gonna let the kids race there???

Posted by: 250RXCrider

Doug....you did a great job on the video and I saw that you liked to zoom in on a few interesting things, don't worry I will not tell

Dan....unfortunatly Doug worked the video camera so well, we do not have any stills other then us and Ron getting ready. Next time we will have to give him the "easy use" camera, although my wife has no problem using it, just joking Doug

Later,

JP
