I have a 2000 400 ex with a wiesco 11.1 piston a big gun race slip on pipe, and a Uni air filter. I am running 91 Octane is that good enough or should i go higher.
Thanks.

We usually run 93 and a little booster just to be on the safe side.
If it were liquid cooled, you could get by with just 93.

use 93 at least

you could get by on 91, but if it pings or sputters raise it up.
more octane doesn't make you go faster, if my car runs good on 89, using 93 ain't ganna make it go faster.

Thank god someone else new this. People think octane=hp. octane is anti-ping in Lamens(how do you spell this?) terms.

Sunoco around us sells 94 pctane I run that. With 11:1+ and advanced timing.
At the dunes in the real hot heat of summer I run 104 or better to be safe
