are new 300ex gas tanks metal or plastic?

the one on my 250X is metal and if the 300ex ones were plastic id like to put one of those on.... un pretty sure it would work but can anyone confirm it?

They are metal cuz I have a 2002 yellow 300ex and my gas is metal, but it sholud fit on that 250x.

Metal gas huh?

Good one. Yeah the tank is metal, but i would think that you could buy an aftermarket plastic tank somewhere.

my 99 300ex has the metal gas tank too, but its only a 2.5 gallon, now thats not enough for some people that weigh 600 lbs it only carries them out of the drive way so the make the aftermarket tanks that hold 3.2 gallons and are plastic and the weight reduction helps the 600 pounders get to the house next door.

Thats the way it was on the 250x's and Honda isnt big on changing/updating stuff on their quads I guess.
