Get ready for vibration!!!!!! No counterbalancer in cr 500 motor so it will vibrate the hell out of you and the quad but it will be quick!!!!!

I race a guy locally in my area here in alabama and he has put a cr500 motor in his stock 250r chassis. Says it is really fast and said vibration at first was an issue but he thinks he has it gusseted it good enough now.

I heard that back in 89 Honda R&D was working on a TRX500r to hang with the Quadzillas, What ever happend to any of those bikes that Honda did prototypes with back then??

it probably got crusched like most of protype bikes and even the factory racer bikes.

actaully if you know where to look on service honda you will find owners and service manuals for a 85 atc500r, atc 200r, for kawi you can find manuals and such for kxt 200,kxt 500, for yamaha, trizinger 4 wheelers. I never searched for a trx 500r, gonna have to.

Fill the frame tubes around the motor with all weather silicone sealer. IT does help. Rock on-

Actually, honda was working on a "prototype" cr480 air cooled motor in a 250r 3wheeler frame.. The pro riders tested it out and said it was so fast and wild that they didn't think any one of lower skill level could ride it under safe conditions.. it was crushed.

I seen a pic of that bike being raced in the baja 500, can't remember who raced it, I want to say Mike Coe. Thats probably also why the atc500r never made it, the atc200r never made it because of the lawsuits and uncertainty if the 200 class was gonna stay. The trx500r also because it was too fast.
