HELP!!! JE Piston Rings 13:1

I just got JE 13:1 piston and don't know two compression rings which goes where. Both have N100 stamped on ring. One is silver finish with square egdes and other is black finish with step cut on outer edge. Paperwork does not tell you which ring goes where. Anybody install one of these? Any help appreciated.

Piston part # is 221767 and rings part # is JG1101-3701. # ring piston. Thanks.

return that thing and buy a CP piston.

JE is horrible look down in the oil journals from the ring toward the wrist pin (upper rod bearing) make sure the path ways are clean of burrs and match the counter hole that leads to the upper rod bearing...(it actually takes two drills to make the journal to feed oil to the rings, 1 drill from the upper rod side of the piston outward and a 2nd dril from the ring to the middle. the two match and thats the oil journal.) Those drills need to be spot on and clean of little burs.

My buddy and I have gone through one already on his yfz and the oil journals were horribly off...

the cp piston has more oiling journals drilled in it. seemed like a better made piston the holes were all clean and centered properly.

I am not a hater just something I've noticed about my experience with je....

THe last time I spoke to cp pistons they did not have a 450r piston. I know they make the yfz stuff but werenot going to do the trx450r for a while. BUt I agree they make a really nice piston. We can get them if anyone is interested.

ah, ok. i think its hilarious that you and colby are both on here at the same time, but i bet you have a lot of responding to do to questions! everyone knows when they have a question one of you will give a logical answer and a true answer. thanks for the time you guys give answering questions with your busy lives.

REDARMYRACER, checked oiling holes. Both to pin journal matched up and alignment was good. All other holes looked good also... they could have put more oiling holes to me... but I'm not an engineer. Thanks for the info.

Hey I have been hearing great things about CP pistons, I recently sent them an email asking if they were making a 12:1 piston for the the TRX. They were quite quick to get back to me saying that if I could send them a stock piston, they might be able to produce one. Anybody out there have a stock piston they might want to donate??
Joe
