im moving these to get ready for my renthal bars. I have the temp. light off now but the ignition is kinda tricky. whats the secret? how & where should I remount these?

The key has 2 little clips that you push in to get the key to come out. If you have an anitfibe stem then LSR makes a plate for them to remount on that goes on the clamp. If not then I would throw away the light and then tape up the key and just zip ty it down by the frame.

I used a black zip-tie to secure the light to my clutch cable right in front of the handlebar pad. As for the key switch, take off the hood and just tape it to one of the wires in there and leave the key on. Whenever you want, just pop the hood and take the key out. Simple and free.

i was wondering if i could just take the key switch and temp light completely off?

Posted by: BOONE450R

yes you can, but i would leave the temp light. mount it on your hood or on the side

I would not run that bike without the key. Without the key the fan will not run. Unless you put a spade on the black and red wires or you hook them together. Which I also learned via Mark Baldwin that thats a big big no no if you want to keep your ignition system for more than a hour.

I cut my key wires and soldered the black and red wires together. All my electrical stuff still works

www.spamwerksatv.com we sell brackets....

Why don't you drill a hole in the plastics somewhere and mount it in the hole, like on the hood or side plastic

mine is under my hood now but I am thinking about making it to my hood where its sticking out so I dont have to take my hood on & off everytime I want my keys....is this a good idea? I have my 4 wheeler key with all my keys to my vehicles & homes so maybe ill just take the 4 wheeler key off & just use it...cant wait to get off work & star drilling
