Black Chrome

Posted by: EXDUNER127

can someone please post pics of anything powdercoated a charcoal metallic or black chrome. I am debating on which color to go with, any recomendations?

Posted by: racerx573

I'd like to see both as well... Pappy... I hear your name being called...

Posted by: Pappy

black chrome....i hate it. its kind of a creamy silver in tone. the powder is kind of a PITA because it is a trait of the powder to "black streak" even when done properly. ive seen parts done by many pc shops and none have been perfect. it has to be cleared for any type of durability.

That almost looks like the stock color.

yea true....stock grey

Posted by: Pappy

its much better then the stock color. pics are sometimes hard to reveal what a color actually is. the frame in the background is charcoal metalic

Its actually closer to the color on the Z frames. And I have to agree with Pappy its a pain in the *** to get right. I have done a lot of wheels in that color and I bet 1 out of 4 has to be redone in every set due to black spoting. I quit stocking the color and showing the pictures of it to try to discourage folks from ordering it

i had the same thing on some parts. Ive found alot more when i didnt shake it real well, but once i shoock for like 15 minutes while waiting for a batch and then when i didnt see one black spot on those parts. I know no-body wants to shake for 20 minutes but that doesnt mean u cant have a machine do it for you....

It will also do it if it's applied too thin. Its probably the most finiky color Ive ever had to deal with. It looks good with a satin clear over it, the satin finish completely changes the look.

Posted by: 300ex13

some pink accessories would look bad...but like the frame maybe not...good idea with the "trans pink" i like it

Posted by: EXDUNER127

thanks pappy that gun metal grey looked awesome and made my desision. You do good work; if only i lived near you i would have it done by you, but i live way out here in the sweaty sack of Arizona. lol

Posted by: Pappy

its no problem at all.

if the company you go with cant get that color, let me know and ill send some out to you

Posted by: Narly R

I have my swingarm PCed black chrome, I liked it at first, but it some how got a couple clack smuges on it, and they wont come off, and where it got wet (I think thats what its from) it has little dark spots that wont come off, you guys mighta already talked about this, but i didnt read everything.

The PC was a perfect job, looked great, just the color cause weird after affects...
