O.K. first off I know about putting the 250r hood on a 400 ex for racing. I also know that Maier makes other hoods like these with ts in them just for this.

What gets me is if they know that the 400ex is used so much for a racing bike over the past years. Why did they never produce a hood specifically for that bike???

I guess it does not make since to cut up your atv's plastic to install something that just does not fit. I KNOW, I HAVE FRIENDS THAT HAVE THEM AND SOME OF THEM LOOK O.K.
BUT TRUTHFULLY, FOR THE MOST PART THE REST LOOK LIKE CRAPOLA.

I done two for my friends as tastefully as I could do! I even mixed epoxy and filled the void in at top. I still hate them. I got made fun of for the longest time, finally I spent the money on a Quadtech hood and tank cover so they would match up right.

I guess, What is the deal with Full-bore and Maier??? Why would they not make the hood?

I install them all the time for my friends. I just do not like it.

there is no deal they made one piece front end for racing thats what they did

Yeah.....if you want it to look good, you have to buy the front racing plastics...then there is no seams and it doesn't look all chopped up.

I am not buying anymore plastics. I am running a Quadtech that fits pretty good and with the tank cover and a little epoxy it fits perfect.

I just find it hard to believe that those companies would not make one for the 400 as lond as it was used as a race bike. It is no 250r but come on since they come out that was the new standard.

I noticed maier wasted no time in bringing a hood out for the 450r.

Maier just makes the plastics.... their one peice fronts look good, the smoothy 250r looks good, racing isn't a fashion show.

I know it is not a fashion show. But, I do not do stuff half-*** either, I want it to fit and look good.

Unfortunetly, anything that you have to do on your own quad (cutting to fit) will not line up perfect the first time. My maier 250r hood on my old blue plastics lined up perfect, and looked great.

U have the coolest hood on a 400ex that i have ever sceen!!! Do u still run that Raptor hood?

I don't have the 440 anymore......I sold it with the Rappy hood to a duner here in AZ......I haven't seen it around (sniff!) so I don't know if he kept it on or not.......but I loved it while I had it!
