I heard a rumor that when someone dies out there, you're supposed to throw a pair of their shoes on the tree. I don't know how true that is, could be BS. Everyone busts on Sand Lake, but I love it there. It's not the biggest set of dunes on the planet, but it can still be a lot of fun.

Been there, seen it, lol. It is wierd though. My cousin left his shoes out on the beach after we went boogie boarding. The next morning, they were in the tree. lol People are also signing their name in the wall next to the tree. It's next to the small waterfall, near the boundary on the beach.

I've been there SO many times since I live sorta close.. And guess what? I've never seen it. Not once since i've been riding their for 6 years.

You have not seen it? Ok, Go down to the beach. Then follow it along for about a mile. You will see some water seeming to come out of now where. Look to your right, and there will be this small waterfall looking thing. It is also slightly rocky there. About 20 feet up from the waterfall, there is the tree. It is dead looking, with a bunch of shoes in it.

I agree. Its not the biggest and baddest dunes but I still have some of best rides I go on all year there. And the people there are great. www.sandlakeduners.com
