There is a hill at a place where i havent ridden at in a while. noone to my knowledge has ever made it up it. we have had everything from blasters to prarie 650's try it. the farthest someone got was about 15feet from the top. My dad coulndnt make it up it in low on a sportsman 500 with 4wd in and brand new 26 in blackwaters on it. we went down it in low and in low the low gear only lets the rear wheels spin at like 10mph it the gas is off and they lock up basicaly like when you have the brakes on and going down the hill the speedo was reading like 28mph before we locked up all the brake and slid the rest of the way. wish i had a pic of it. the first half isnt so bad but it levels off alittle bit turns some and goes up at prolly a 45 degree angle or alittle more it is wicked
Posted by: SGA
You guys don't know how lucky you got it. Its pancake flat around here. We get excited if a dump truck drops a load of dirt.
Posted by: bsb64
There are some sick hills at Tower City. We like to sit there and watch the nuts conquer them, LOL. Check out this pic.

Posted by: jhr400EX
those hills are nothing compared to the hills out at Isabelle ash dumps near my house. we have this one hill called The Wall, it is like 300ft high, and at the top it goes at almost a 90 degree angle. I am gonna try to get up there today to take some pics and post them here.
Posted by: 2002_300_EX
theres a hill where i ride called devils hill...it looks like a big W and its about a 80º angle on both up and down sides....i have never made it all the way...but some people have...crazy stuff
Posted by:
they look ok..i would still try em..id probly end up runnin out of gas tho
Posted by: 440exnacsracer
yea, wish i had a dig cam too. sand and coal can only get so steep, but here in Ga, the red clay can go vertical. one hill behind my house is basically vertical, about 40ft tall. it took me a week to get the balls to do it, but it did. ill try to get a pic later

Dude you guys are so lucky!. Talking about this little hill in your backyard and stuff.I live in AZ and everything is flat and dry and our houses are three feet apart with and 1/8th acre backyard. My quads dont come off the trailer either unless we are out riding. Sorry to sound like such a little girl but I hate AZ, its 115degrees right now.:grr

OSrider, yea, that's me at WindRock on my 300EX. I saw that hill the first time I rode there and wanted to climb her but it took me about a month to get the balls to do it. I thought if I waited long enough I would get to see someone climb it but never did.
I finally got the nerve to climb it, there were 5 guyes there and I could tell they wanted to see someone do it so I gave it a shot. I hit it wide open in 4th gear and got about 6' of air off the top. I didn't know it but one of the guyes watching had a digital camera. After I climbed it he called me over there and showed me the picture, I gave him my e-mail, he sent it to me, told me I was F'n crazy!!!
I have a new Z-400 Suzuki now(sold the Honda), I have been rideing at Windrock for 2 years now, it is a great place to ride!!!
I live aprox 150miles from there but ride it a couple times per month.
Later...

GOD!! call him gay cuz he makes a little mistake! everyone has done it before! Be a little nicer man!! Don't go flamin him
Posted by: Nausty
you guys compaining about not having any hills need to look at the bright side. i dont' really hill climb anymore but mainly because if your putting so much on the line and on such a steep hill if you don't make it it can end up being a VERY expensive mistake and I figured that out after trying to turn my bike around on a hill right on the verge of tipping and I ended up having the quad drag me half way down the hill for fear of my quad flipping or hitting a tree thats when i figured enough was enough. Did you guys all see the crash video of the brand new raptor rolling down a hill to the point of it practically being trash? Its on this site.
Posted by: roostin_dale
yea i saw that video.......or you can look at the "Hill Climb" section of Huevos4!!!!!
Posted by: Castor-426ex

AMEN!!!!!
Theres a place down the road where theyre building something, and theyre taking out dirt. Me and my friends stole it all to build a large hill to climb. its about 20 ft high, now.
Posted by: Sleeping Catfish
i hate hills. the first hill i did was a really steep one but only about 55 feet high. i hit in 3rd gear pinned(everyone else did 2nd) and i flew over the landing spot and landed one a bunch of big roots. i could barely walk the rest of the day my nuts hurt so bad.
Posted by: 4punksdad
here is one of the hills we climb in the woods behind my house. this is my buddy al walking up it before he gave it a try. he was the second one I had ever seen go up it. I was the 3rd. the 1st guy was on a 4x4 grizz. later the same guy went up it on a 450es. its pretty steep, loose dirt, trees to dodge, and plenty of roots to make it interesting.
Posted by: 4punksdad
here is al again on another small hill on the powerlines.

Hey everybody my name is marc i dont have a quad but am saving to buy one does anyone have any tips for me on what to get i want a sport
Posted by: roostin_dale
I'd say go with the 300ex! Since you have never owned a quad! Its not as fast or powerful as the 400ex! And it has reverse! Its good for a beginner!
Posted by: Sportrax 400EX
4punksDad,
From the looks of it you have some majorly kick *** trails out your way. Are they on private land? My brother and a few friends are looking to take a trip up to WV soon to do some riding and maybe we could ride the trails out by you. Who can we talk to to get permission to ride on the trails out there? Also, how advanced are the trails? My brother is pretty good but I'm still getting used to my 400EX so anything majorly difficult might be rough for me still.

the trails here have difficult places, but my 2year old rides with me on his trx/70 and I have built ways around 90% of the difficult parts. if you want to ride sometime........drop me an e-mail. we ride almost every sunday.

has anyone seen the hills that dirtbikers climb?? at this place that i ride at there are dirtbike hills soo steep that i can barly climb them physicially(sp). i have no clue how they make it up them.
Posted by: gncc025
Yeah those dirtbikes can climb some freaking steep hills.
Posted by: roostin_dale
those guys can get friggin crazy!
Posted by: PismoGuy400
its wierd...ive watched some of those on tv, and if the doint make it up the rebound of the suspention will throw the bike away from the hill...id be scared *****less to try one of those
Posted by: Crazy4bluEx
Oh those hills the dirtbikers climbare still climbable
around here in Oakland city indiana trails,
it probably is 160 foot tall,
an at least a 70 degree angle all the way up....
and i just gets steeper,
in one part there is acutally a place that goes straight up...
the good part about it though, it has 2 sides, like a half pipe,
you get going down the other side, and SHOOT out the top...
if you can maintain the same speed as a bike,
you can climb the hill...
i used 2 be scared to death to climb this hill
but now i go right up it...
this is no Little hill either by the way... it takes a 125 every bit of power to get up it, and i have only seen about 4 guys on 125's even make it all the way without jumping off to the side, i never have seen anything but 2 stroke 500 bikes climb the really steep part....
*K*
Posted by: KASCHAK
i was looking at your pics that you guys have on there and there... well nothing comes close to the hills where i live there coal banks of northeastern pa. and the one part of the hill is 85degrre up and is about 250 feet long and ya only get a 25ft run on it. I bet none of you guys beleve me but when i get my camera i'll put a pic of it o.
and by the way the only quads that can make it up are banshees and about 3 of them rolled down it no chance for a 400ex making it up.
any of you guys think you can make it up i would not bet on it because you'll loose all your money!!

wow i ride coal banks to.....what 1s are u talking about? and i believe u about the shee part but a 400 can come close. i rolled my shee on a hill that was basically straight up and down and about 200 ft high o and there is not even a 10 ft run its like rocky hill bunch of trees then 5 ft later is the hill.
Posted by: jamie400ex
Ya, hillclimbing dirtbikes look pretty sweet, and dirtbikes hillclimbing looks sweet too

Posted by: Sick0
The biggest hill I 've gone up is the hill in H4 in massachusetts. Its really not that step until you get to the top. The it gets real step. Probly like 80 degree.

Posted by: lil400exman
have u ever climbed some hills at haspin i saw a guy on a raptor on a 15ft hil that inverted with a 6inch root at the top!and those trials bikes are awesome!
Posted by: 4punksdad
......
Posted by: lildude
hey is that hill really that bad or was it just slippery that day couse it looks to me like he didn tmake it up and hes backin it down
and one other think does anyone know how long this post has been goin couse i think it could make a world record
Posted by: Rastus
ohio hills are awesome!
I just like popping wheelies on the ones you can putt up, and just mess around.
In 4punks last picture....the guy might have been backing up so he can get a better run? thats what I do on a series of hills going up. Back up.....stick it in 2nd gear......revvv......let the clutch go...

That looks like some awesome riding area 4punks! I just wish I could afford, or find some riding land more often...
The worst hill I've ever done was barely wide enough on either side by stumps, and logs, and in the middle theres rocks sticking in the middle. It isnt to bad till the top when it gets to about a 80* at the top, and theres a root up at the top. When you hit it, one wheel is going on loose dirt, and the other side hits that root and totally throws you off. That sucker skeert the crap outta me!.
I stalled it once going up, the front wheels were kinda bobbing up and down , hit the ground then poped up alittle then went back down, got off, turned it around and went down.(That was the scariest part!)
Did i give up ?? No.....too much EXriders spirit...
(plus a warrior and a 400 made it, so i gota show'em a good ole' 250X aint layin down for no one !
)
Next time I made it up , and I gave those guys **** about an "old" "crappy" quad making it up....atleast thats what they said b4 I did it

that hill is pretty intimidating. it is steep.....slippery, has a few small turns and plenty of roots & sticks. he didn't want any that day. the picture before that is me climbing the same hill..........almost @ the top.
Posted by: ridesa02400EX
that hill looks like a lot of fun i was climbing a hill about a month ago and i was trying to show off and totally flipped the quad over and bent my bars and tore my grips the next day i went riding i blew the motor but it is still under warranty so its all good

CHeck out my pic page for a video and a picture of some hills. The link is below in my sig.\/ We have a hill around here that is called the point and it is impossibly for any 4 wheeler but i think some db have clibed it. We have alot of strip mining around here and that equals tones of big *** hills.

that pucture of that hill isnt that big at all!! i could probly climb that! take a pic of it when you can see how steep it is!!
Posted by: Foxrage
I know it doesnt look that bad but thats the only inpossibly hill so far cause there is a big gap at the top and strait up and down in the middle so you have to hit it fast but to fast will make you end up in some big *** ditch and back down the hill you go.
Posted by: yamaha1470
It is a lot bigger when you see it in real life. No one has ever done it before for all you people who are gunna say its small.
Posted by: 4punksdad
this is more like a hill............that ^ is like a hump
Posted by: yamaha1470
your right that one is a lot lot steeper but the one i posted is just very very long and there is no run way because it is right next to a road(u can see it in the pic) and the Long Island Expressway ( which is what i am driving on in that pic. So you have to start on an incline which is hard.
Posted by: lildude
im gonna try to get some pics of the hills we got i think there bigger than yamahas but i dunno about 4 punks couse that looks kool
