my friend says that 400exs have more speed then the YFZ 450s and the TRX450R is this true or is my friend just a retard?

my lil bro was on his CR85 and he was racin my friend on a TRX450R on the road....my lil bros bike and the 450 were side by side but i dono if the guy on the 450 wasnt goin as fast as he could do u know if a CR85 is as fast as a TRX450R????? (they are both completely stock except the 450 has nerf bars and skid plates)

yea my friend has a yfz fo fiddy and we raced it a feild, on the holeshot i was right with hem but that was because his tires are balled and he just spinned, but win he got traction he blew me away

, the only thing that MIGHT beat a 450 is either a CR 250 or maybe a ds 650

125 dirt bike should also kep up. dirt bikes have so much less weight im sure your friend on the 450 was going full throttle those little 80's are fast i have a cr80(well my brother has it rightr now) but i have had 80's beat my 250r. they have like 18-20hp on a maybe 150 pound bike

if you cant beat an 85 you dont know what u r doing
i raced a yz250 and he only beat me by 1/2 -1/4 of a length
we were dead even for about 250 feet then he slowly nuged ahead when we were both 5th gear wide open
hes only slightly faster but if you saw the race youd think it was dead even
and he races so its not the rider!!

i didnt know that 80's were that fast.

at my local track there is a open feild and there was about 7 quads and 5 dirt bikes. a new 450r was one of the quads and my dad has a crf450r bike. there was no competition because my dad and the other 450r smoked everyone else racing. my dad beat the 450r by a half a bike length.they were movin, i have never rode a 450r but i have ridin my dads bike and it is like a rocket.

dirt bikes are alot faster than quads. the new quads should keep up better but still not much of a comparison

on memorial weekend at little sahara ok there was a group of ds 650s that were smoking the 450s, the only quad thatstood a chance was a heavily modified preddy.

ya pikey it blew up fried the rings
had it reved to high for to long to many times
but i told the dealer ship it was a bad engine so it is being fixxed and should be back in about 2 or 3 weeks
but i will stop by sometime but i have been to bussy hanging out with my gf and running track and i was working for my school

i just had to bring this old thread up.ok i own a modded out 85.aftermarket pistons cams port and polished piped it has alot of ****.4000 grand into it and thats just performance stuff.and a 450r would smoke me.yeah 85' s are fast but not that fast.and an rm 80 would get smoked even worse.the 85's are alot faster than 80's and it seems weird cuz there only 5'ccs diff.a piped cr250 would be a good race against a piped 450.but cr isnt the fastest 250.

my 700r can beat a 450. two weekends ago i rode with a ctracing piped '07 trx450r and when we hit the road it was bye-bye 450. As soon as we stopped to rest, my friend said "man that 700 doesn't play around". don't know what 700's you guys been racing but the only 450's that beat me are high-comp, port/polish, cam and full exhaust quads. I only have the normal "3mods" along with a 15t front sprocket. I'm not going to speak on what would happen if i unplugged the 5th gear speed sensor.

tater049, you might be right about me losing to you but thats nothing a $200 high-comp piston and $150 stage 1 cam can't fix. With those mods you have, i'm pretty sure you would do more maintenance than i would and I'd still be able to trail ride and get better gas mileage while running pump gas. On the other hand, i bet your yfz is a blast to ride. I rode one with a built motor and it felt like a rocketship.

im just playin around man dont take everything so serious, anyway yea its really fun, its a beast in the trails, but i think it might be a little better than your rappy. I felt them to be a little top heavy but obviously you can get used to it.

i'm not mad or anything Tater49. I guess its hard to get your point across by typeing man. Everything is all good with me. I love raptors and would not ride anything else. I plan on buying raptors as long as yamaha keeps making them better and better. I rode my buddy's built yfz and it was fast as hell, just felt a little too small for me. I'm only 5'8" 200lbs for I feel powerful sitting on my 700r. Yamaha for life

i wish my 400ex could keep up with a 450 but it just doesnt happen heres how the race goes. we both take off were dead even until we hit third then he pulls away until we hit fifht then i start gaining again but by that time the straight away is over but i know at top speed i would beat him weve gug out the gps to prove that b4. oh and 125s cant beat a 450 cause i have beaten those b4 but definatly not by much. it all comes down to the rider
