Alright, now that the 450r has been out for a little while and alot of people have there after market pipes on, lets hear it, what pipe did you go with and how has it been workin out for ya.

Posted by: jb500ex

white bros race series, it's the best pipe i have ever owned. i have had duncan, lrd, fmf, dmc, and the worst pipe ever made dg.

hmf will put the others to shame.

My WB Aluminum Race is awesome. I have the CRF cam and pipe,
thats it, and I can keep up or beat most Toomey piped and K&N'ed Banshees in the sand.

Rossier engineering. Just got my pipe, very good fit and finish. It also has VERY nice power gains.

TC pipe and ill let u know in 2 days

Posted by: 400exBro

what about baldwin pipe???

either TC, Sparks, or LRD for mx

HMF seems popular with the XC group...

HMF

I HAVE A BALDWIN. I LOVE MINE AND I FIGURED SINCE TIM IS SPONSORED BY HONDA THAT MARK DID HIS HOMEWORK. BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF GOOD EXHAUSTS ON THE MARKET, ALTHOUGH SOME MAY BE JUST A LITTLE OVERPRICED.

White Brothers Race (I got the aluminum one for $500 with filter and jet kit). Amazing difference. That with the HRC kit (and UNI or WB filter) makes the TRX pull from bottom to top hard like my 2003 CRF450R. Sounds about the same as the CRF too, maybe a litle lower rumble. I'd say about 99 db. It will torque out of stuff in second or third gear now that was a problem in first before. It also keeps pulling hard way farther on top. No need to change the sprocket now.

I love my Ultimate X Full Titanium Setup.

I know a guy who put a DR. D on his CRF after trying many other pipes on it and he said that was his favorite pipe he has owned. I am thinking of going with the slip on Dr. D for my TRX. Anyone used one yet? I run the Dr. D on my YFZ and have yet to meet someone who's pipe will outperform it and that includes some full systems. This is the one I'm looking at:

Dr. D silencer

I pick my R this Friday and the first thing I buy will be a Trinity stage IV, it was a great pipe on the 400 so it'll probably be pretty darn good on the R

Posted by: trick450r

My pick was baldwin...will have mine in a few weeks, after my shocks arrive...wb carbon pro is a top notch exhaust also, as well as the lrd pro-4 and the rossier engineering exhaust!

I have the LRD Pro saeries and the thing just rips. What ever you decide to get it will wake a big difference in performance. Just get what you like, looks included. The vary in performance between the top brands is very minimal.

i have a quick question about two pipes...
i was wondering with the HMF pipe, if i run the quiet core around come and then take it out at the races will it affect my jetting?? And how hard is it to remove and install the quiet core insert on the HMF???

and for the sparks, how does their quiet core muffle the sound?? do they use discs or is it similar to the HMF style of quiet core??

thanks

Posted by: allmixedup047

i havnt seen the quiet core for the sparks yet, but i know its not discs.

DR.D? anyone heard about them yet? i hear they are making ungodly power. but id like to hear it from someone else just to make sure.

Posted by: kwatts400

I just read a pipe comparison for the yfz, and they had alot of good things to say about the dr. d. Good hp output and low sound. I'd like to see the same comp. for the 450r before I decide what I want to do though. I think it will probably be just the hrc kit to keep the noise down.

Posted by: 400exBro

i talked to scott today at sparks and he said that they are in the process of developing two different quiet core systems for the X-6 pipe, one that will be removeable to go from loud to queit that might not require jetting changes...(they don't know yet since it is still in the testing stages) and the other will be permantent(sp?)... sounds like another sparks product, Top notch stuff, can't wait till they get this done and i am going to be ordering the x-6 with supercharger air filter and jet kit...

Posted by: brif

Did sparks give you a time frame on the quiet pipe? I was looking into that pipe. Sparks told me end of april, april and may came and gone. So in june I bought a yoshi. I think the sparks will be a great pipe, I just don't think you'll be able to purchase one for a long........time.

i'd like to get a big gun for my 450r as soon as I pay it off

Do you know if they make a full pipe? I hear the honda really benefits from having a full system.

Posted by: Woody_YFZ

They do not make a full system.

Posted by: 400exBro

no Sparks didn t give me an exact date, he said they are working on it, and hope to have it out soon...
