Does anyone ride in Laurel, MD. I've heard there are some trails there. Are they legal?

Posted by: Pappy

they arent legal. there isnt anylegal puplic riding anywhere near wash dc or baltimore unless you hit the landing mx...or have access to private land

Posted by: White400

how far is the landing mx from Arlington/DC area? The only place I've found is Budd's Creek?

Posted by: Pappy

www.thelandingmx.com

they are locted just off rt 50 about 45 minutes south of annapolis.

www.tomahawkmx.com

they are 1 hour 20 minutes north of dc off I 81

The only time you can run Budds is at a race....they don't have any open practices there...The places Pappy mentioned are both good and fun places to ride....

Posted by: White400

I apologize for saying Budds Creek, I maeant teh Southern Maryland ATV Park, just down the road from Budds Creek.

Posted by: seatec

arent they like more than 45 or 50 bux to ride at?

Posted by: White400

Southern Maryland ATV Park is $80 the first day and $30 every time after that

Posted by: YLW400

How is that place anyway? I have seen the sign coming out of Budds...... Hey white400, race D-7 and you can run all of the tracks

Posted by: White400

The track is ok as long as it's dry! It can get pretty muddy on a rainy day, but they take pretty good care of it. Beginner-Intermediate sized jumps, and several trails. The trails are ok, but most of them can be ridden in under an hour.

Your probably refering to the pits in Laural. I see people riding down there every weekend but it's definitly not legal. I ride with a couple guys who used to ride there often. If you know the area there is an endless supply of trails. Finding a good and safe place to park is the problem.

Posted by: White400

I appreciate the info, but I really don't feel comfortable riding there if it's not legal. I've heard of some people getting $1000 tickets for riding the power lines in Clinton, MD.

Posted by: White400

cletusex, where do you ride?

Posted by: Pappy

there are alot of memebers from your general area on this site. keep an eye out for them and youll have some riding areas pretty soon.

i take it your just into trail riding?

Posted by: White400

Pardon me if I came across wrong, I'm into all kinds of riding. I used to race Flat Track and TT in Western Kentucky, but I've been out of the game for a while. I'm up for any kind of riding, but I'm not considered an "experienced" rider when it comes to the Big jumps on the MX.

I ride a little bit up in Frederick MD at a place my buddy has, but I also race the D-7 HS and hit as many GNCC's as possible so that keeps my busy. I like hitting up Tomahawk in WV whenever it's open for practice.

I've heard of the place by Budd's, it is definately on my places to check out list.
