GOOD JOB PAPPY NICE PICS

Posted by: lukester720

The pics are great! How did you do?

Posted by: CatMostFeared

I have some killer shots of the morning hill climb.
Its alot steeper than it looks.Half the senior and womens class were stuck due to a bottle neck. Then the stock class comes around for alittle more action. The grass was wet from he morning so they restarted the AM race and left the hill climb out.
But we ran it in the after race.

Posted by: CatMostFeared

Here where the action started.Likely no riders were hurt.

Posted by: CatMostFeared

Poor Jean Lovely flipped hers acouple times. But they were able to keep it from going down to the bottom.Thats her quad flipped over

Posted by: lukester720

judging from the pics it doesn't look like much of a hill, but I'm sure the thing is huge when you see it in person.

Posted by: countypark

That pic only shows about the top 1/3 of the hill. It is hard to judge how steep it is from the photo. It is a black diamond ski slope that they call "The Face" and in the ski season it is covered with waist deep moguls. It wasn't hard to climb in the afternoon but in the morning it was slick and wet.

Posted by: popo

Yoo Marty, I think your nerf bar and foot peg was sitting about the 5 mile marker.

That was a fun race until after my 2nd lap, Nate noticed oil around my engine cases.

Congrats to Scottkawi, he was a hauling.

TLC, keep your head up girly... That race was yours.

Any body know if this was the last race there?

Posted by: CatMostFeared

Here one of the shots I have of the hill. The picture still does give it justice. The bottom is on a slop also.I would say the hill was about 2 football feilds long.

Posted by: cheetah

That hill was steep! I had a feeling something would happen there and I watched the first class take off and it wasn't long I saw everyone run from the start toward the hill and I knew it had happened. I personally wanted to hit it. I'm pretty sure I could make it it's just what happens with the people in front of you. With 44 people in our class though, I'm glad they left it out.

Posted by: CatMostFeared

I'll have some more pics later

Popo I needed some parts off the footpeg.
I was riding sidesaddle the last 3 laps.It payed off
I still came in 7th and moved up in points.
I killed it off the line and last up the hill.
We had 22 riders in the class and when I came around on the first lap I was in 9th moved my way up to 4 or 5th and BigDaddy660 was behind me when I hit a rock with my foot peg it almost though me over the bars.
I loved that track it was awesome it was my time to shinenaccept for the damn rock lol.

O'well I had a blast

He rolled on a down hill about 2 1/2 miles from the finish on the last lap and broke the key off in the off position so he tried to hot wire it but the rollover sensor got stuck so it wouldn't fire.

i saw him at the bottom of the hill, kinda 1/2 on 1/2 off the track. as soon as i passed by him, i heard screaming...as i looked over my shoulder all i could see was a yellow 400 flipping straight for him. i wasnt sure if it nailed him or not

that is a good picture of the hill. you get a good idea of what it was

Posted by: quad_45

I was one of the many stuck on the hill. Before going up it, I thought it wasn't bad as everyone else thought too, until I was stuck up there for what I thought was an eternity. And when you looking down from up there, it is the steepest hill I have ever been on, and you really couldn't do anything but pray that you and your quad didn't tumble like everyone elses. I am just glad they stopped after the second class!!

Did anyone get a picture of the utility quad I destroyed!

I did a tire test for the new AMS Swamp Fox tires on a borrowed Kaw Prairie....the tires where great and held up perfectly but unfortunately the quad didn't quite make it.

That was the first time I had ever rode one of those or tried to race a utility quad, so I just became familiar with it on the first lap then began to hammer down on the second lap....unfortunately I flipped it several times at the little downfill past mile marker 9 trying to pass a couple of slower riders with Mr. Penland in my sights.

Posted by: Jeff@TireBalls

Ouch...that was a nasty hill to wreck on. Are you ok?

damn dude that aint good you broke up?

Posted by: MooseRacing

My back is just a little bruised....it happened so quick that the first roll the quad was on top of me but it had so much momentum that I never really felt the weight...so I jumped out of the way of other racers and watched it tumble....I never thought something that big could do complete barrel rolls in the air!!!

I think I could have easily won the class....unfortunately I am not as smart as those guys.

I even competed in the bike race Sunday morning...I love that place!!

Posted by: Jeff@TireBalls

How did you do sunday? Don't forget were gonna battle it out in the bike sportsman class at Sparta!

Posted by: MooseRacing

I only got 3 laps in on Sunday....I thought I was ok until I got into the rocks and realized how sore I was

I stopped and talked to one of the photographers out on the track and was going to quit...but I continued on to the finish the 1st lap and went in to get more air for the front tire from the great guys at the Maxxis truck....thought about it for a minute and went back out and did 2 more laps just having fun!

Heck yea its on for KY I better start training now!

Posted by: Jeff@TireBalls

LOL...don't worry. The only bike I have right now to race is an 87 CR250

Posted by: Bustin_beadz

I noticed that none Pro's in the top 15 were in the pro pits AGAIN and that FST was taken up his usual extra 10 foot of other pro's spaces...

I guess talent doesn't get you on Pro row anymore but how much cash you have in your wallet. It's getting pathetic and something needs to be done about these issues that keep happening every race.

Lewis and Hertz need to get back to the normal pits like the rest of the NONE top 15 riders from last year... and FST needs a new tape measure since there pit is always more than the 15 foot given to them..

WELL they are supposed to be alowed 15' so let's start from the top. Bill and Brandon are together so they get a total of 30' plenty of room for more than 2 quads. Borich takes up about the right space. yokely and duval take up less space than they are alowd. As far as lewis goes him and Gregg Trew pit out of the same trailer. it is kinda hard to split them up. they take up Geggs space and Pages space so that is not too much room. Team safari gets 30' because of Santo and Smiley. since they set up 3 10' canopies they are taking up the right amount of space. and there is plenty of room for Traci rick tyler and more. FST might take up a little too much room but others take up less so that works out OK. They also do a pretty good job making all there quads fit into the area. TQS always has several quads there and do a GREAT job making them stay in there alowd space. Jenks only takes up 10'and since there are only 14 assigned spots Everything has to be a bit tighter for Dirt First to fit which they have every race this year.

So whats the problem????

Posted by: RRider

I was looking through these pics and decided to make a wallpaper... Heres a quick one I threw together.

The main problem is that the 2 trailers that some racers use that are 8 foot wide parked in a 15 foot wide area takes up about 20 foot, that's if you plan on opening up the side doors. If there's only room to park 1 large truck and trailer per 15 foot area then don't be a jerk and let your racing partner pull his setup in there too causing everyone down the pro line to have their trailers 2 foot from each other. Abuse of the system is what it is and not very professional. HOW in the hell does Lewis have his name on a sign when he's not a top 15 pro??? I've seen Trew's name on a sign and lewis's name on a sign next to it and yes I realize lewis sponsors Trew but so what, that' allows hime to have his own spot?? WTF

FST has 3 or even 4 trucks and trailers crammed in their little area which makes Jenks parking area pretty tight. I guess it's like cramming 8 lbs of chit in a 5 lb bag and lettin the rest of the chit just fall were it wants.. I'm not complaining about all of pro row just the few areas that seem to be on the non-professional side.. Seeing the white line painted and the FST marker MOVED over to allow them more room probably was the biggest "You've got to be kidden me" remark i''ve had all year.

Yeh - That was me. I never saw it coming either which was probably best. I never knew who hit me but I just found out it was Joshua Ribley from another rider that was directly behind him at the time. As I set up to powerslide thru the turn I guess Joshua thought the track was still going straight (keep in mind it was extrememly dusty) and plowed right into the side of me. If I remember that section correctly he had to be 4th or 5th gear WFO when he nailed me.
Joshua stopped by our pits later on to see if I was alright which was cool - I guess he was limping around. I ended up with a ton of bruises and a few cuts / stitches above my eye from the goggle lenses popping out. I am just glad for no broken bones..

All I remember is passing a few riders going up the slope and setting up to powerslide thru the corner and that's it... TBH I was really dazed afterwards and glad it did not happen much further from the pits - Traci said I was pretty out of it..

I also must thank Jim Lewis for taking me to the Ambulance - After I got back to the pits I got off my quad and was looking around trying to figure out which way to it....

Both Traci and I smashed our Shoei VFX-R helmets this year in really bad crashes and walked away. I will not hesitate to plunk down anonther 4-500 bills for another... Some things ya just can't go cheap on and Shoei has earned me as a lifetime customer..

I guess talent doesn't get you on Pro row anymore but how much cash you have in your wallet. It's getting pathetic and something needs to be done about these issues that keep happening every race.

Lewis and Hertz need to get back to the normal pits like the rest of the NONE top 15 riders from last year... and FST needs a new tape measure since there pit is always more than the 15 foot given to them..

so i guess none of the Pro Am riders are talented. yea Hertz and Lewis and real slow!

I did argue his post but I do understand where he is coming from, and no one said those guys are slow nor does that have anything to do with any of the post concerning this subject.

that was off topic. my fault.

Yep thats it....it looks pretty good in that pic....that is right after I cleaned it up and straightened out all the racks with a 6 foot steel bar.
All four corners of the racks where bent down pushing the plastic into the tires.

There were a few photographers getting pics when I came out of the woods after the wreck... I will have to see what I can find.

I want to race a utility quad again....it was a heck of a lot of fun!

Who's this guy in the back

Posted by: chad duvall

Pappy, Thanks for the great pictures of chad and anyone else who posted pic's! He was very glad to be back, nervous at first and sore after but OK. He said he felt great for most of the race but his arms were giving out on the last lap. Still needs to work out a little..LOL
And to Rick about the shoei, yes Chad and Barry both will tell you that their wreck could of been worse for a head injury without them! Bryan(chads mechanic)came over the radio looking for traci because he seen rick looking pretty bad and was glad to hear you only got stiches!
Chads on afternoons so he will be checking out the pics soon! He will be impressed pappy
