I found a dealer with an '03 model z400 brand new. $5100.00 OTD. What do you think, good deal?

I paid $5200 OTD for my '03 back in Jan '03...

I would either buy a used Z400 for around $3400, upgrade to a YFZ/TRX450 or just hold out a bit longer for the '05 Z400.

bad deal, get them down to 48 or 49 if not wait untill the 05 arrive. Espically if you trail ride alot. If you race rumor has it the 450 zuki will be out late. early 06 model

Ummmm, an '03 Z400 is a bad deal period if you ask me, that was the first year with all the problems... They should pay YOU to take it out the door, youll be paying them 5000 in maintenance and broken parts most likely anyway along the line...
