Modifying a TRX90 Swing Arm???

I was looking at the TRX90's swing arm and it appears to be simple to extend 3" - 4" unless I'm missing something.

Cut the pipes in front of the shock and slide them into an 8" piece of pipe leaving about 2" inside for proper alignment. Ensure alignment after tacking and then weld solid.

Next, cutout the old shock mount (to reduce weight). Fabricate a new one with the mounting position being slightly lower than original to keep down the height increase from the extension.

Lastly, refabricate a mount for the chain guard plus install new cables and chain.

Looks simple enough, am I missing something?

Thanks,

Rich
