I am guessing you TT or flattrack race. You can do it any way you want to. I have seen anything from just the edges rounded down to only a 1/4 inch thick. If you take it way down you might have some trouble getting you seat cover to fit perfect. Just keep taking more off until you feel comfortable moving around on it while racing.

No so you can do seat grabs and other tricks that involve you grabing the seat easier.

the 400ex seat is low enough..you dont need to shave the seat for freestyle... thats more for dirtbikes only..maybe if you were ridin a banshee or somethin but the EX is fine the way it is.

The 400ex seat is pretty low anyway. You shouldn't need to shave it.
