I have read about the oil changes etc.... my question is on a 2002 400 ex. the dip stick under the tank says upper and lower on the stick what the heck does this mean how much oil do I put in?
Thanks

the upper and lower lines on a dipstick usually indicate the add and full lines. You don't have to add oil until the level is below the lower line and when you fill it up fill to the full line. Basically above the top is too much and below the bottom is too little. You want it somewhere inbetween.

Yea just fill it up midway between the upper and lower marks. Make sure you don't overfill though.

Change the oil and filter at the same time, put a new stock filter in, and 2 quarts of mobile 1 red-cap 15w-50 in 'er, than go out and ride

Get a K&N oil filter, 2 quarts of Amsoil 0w/40 and you're good to go!
