What's better for MX? Long Travel or standard?

i'm getting some elka's elite's for my 450R and i'm not sure wheather i should go with the 20" long travel or the standard 9"? either way i get low/high speed comp/rebound adj, zps, piggyback, and quad rate.

Ideally, long travel is the way to go....I would say if your ability level is high and you are pretty serious about racing, then go for it.

Locally, standard travel does a more than adequate job at the tracks. I also can't rationalize paying that much for arms and shocks, because I am not some pro rider.

Going with Elka Elites you can't go wrong....the long travel issue is up to you.

Long travel is the way to go, hell, i wish i had it on my 300ex most of the time, lol standard travel is a thing of the past
