i have a 400 ex that when i get to about 3/4 to full throttle it starts cutting out and breaking up. it seems like it could be the timing or my pulse generator. if anybody knows anything about this i would really dig the help. thanks!

Pull the carb & clean it first.

i've had my 300ex since 95 and never had any problems with the engine. still runs like a striped *** ape

If it is cutting out at really really high RPM's than it is completly normal. All EX's have a rev limiter to stop it from revving ridiculously high.

yea that is also true. even if u have it at 3/4 throttle next time just open it wide up instead of 3/4 and shift when it hits the rev limiter, if it cuts out even when u do that its the rev limiter that ol dude is talking about above.
