My 300ex is starting to smoke quite a bit. it doesn't smoke when u open it up and give it hell. anyways what do i need to buy for a basic topend rebuild. and how much do u think it would cost for my local dealership to rebuild it.

dealerships usually charge waaaaay to much to do it. but i'd say for your 300, you could just buy a wiseco 11:1 piston for around 90 bucks, then have it bored .020 over (boring usually costs around 40 bucks, here atleast). and thats really all you need

So u think i should goto a non dealership bike shop and get them to do it. i figured a piston would be about that much. oh yea do i need to put any valve guide seals or anything on my head. where would i get my head bored at. at a local machine shop?
