On a flight from Phoenix to Sacramento today, got to see Kelso Dunes & Dumont in the distance. Then Death Valley. Just north and west of Death Valley, I saw this mountain pretty close up:

More info on Eureka Dunes
Both Kelso and Eureka looked like they would have been lots of fun. Too bad they are both COMPLETELY CLOSED to OHVs
. When anyone tells you that off-roaders need to give up more to be fair. It helps to remember what we've already been forced to give....
We desperately need to Reform the ESA and we must fight any more Wilderness Designations!

What really frosts my a*s is that now that we're not allowed on 'em, what have ya got? Some huge piles of sand impassable to humans without a machine. Vacant space in a world getting more crowded every day. The more folks come along, the more land gets shut off to everybody. Makes a lot of sense, huh? Are we just supposed to hole up inside our condos and apartments and read their drivel all day? I sure hope not.

Yea, don't realize how big the country is until you view it from above. All that untouched land and they have to shut down the piles of sand

I've got lots more info on areas that used to be open to us, and are now closed:

Crow, I've noticed you seem to be pretty active in fighting for OHV rights. Keep up the good work and realize that there are thousands of us out there that appreciate it people like you.

Give me a break:
Endangered or Threatened Species:
Eureka Dunes evening primrose (Oenothera californica ssp. eurekensis); Federal Status: Endangered, 1978
Eureka Valley dune grass (Swallenia alexandrae); Federal Status: Endangered, 1978
Ohhhh no guys... some weed was becoming endangered!

Pierson's Milk Vetch is basically a weed too. And it's being used today to keep us out of 49,000+ acres in Glamis. Keep your fingers crossed the the petition to delist it goes to our side.

It's too bad logic and reasoning don't work with these people.
The basic theory of environmental protection is to save it for future generations to enjoy.
How many people are enjoying it? How many people do you see hiking the desolate dunes of Death Valley to enjoy the beautiful vegitation? That's right. NOBODY. "Outdoor enthusiasts" are not going to be hiking and enjoying these dunes, and now offroad enthusiasts can't. Through their narrow-minded ideology, they've lost site of the bigger picture.
