i bought the motor and the guy never told me what octane gas to use it is a 88 motor with a 86 cylinder rebuilt recently bored out, with paul tuner powerhead, 38mm stryker carb, curtis sparks reed cage, carbon fiber reeds, ct exhaust and some other stuff but what octane gas should i use?

You need to know the compression ratio to accurately select the octane. It will run fine on the high test, but you won't see the benefits of the higher octane unless your engine has the ability to compress at a higher ratio. I you use the low octane it might ping (predetonate) if you have a high comp ratio. Try the low and if it pings upgrade till the ping stops.

I have a stock motor and only run premium. Its only 90 octane here. I would run Premium if your not sure what the compresion is.

You can buy 2 1/2 gallons of Turbo Blue or Cam 2 and mix it with 2 1/2 gallons of 87 oct gas and it doesn't matter if the engine is stock or bored out all the way. If it is running to hot, I recommend the Turbo Blue, because it has a cooling agent. That is what I run in my 250r Pro Quad.

get the higher octain pump gas, any high performance stock engine should be run on that if you ask me. i have always run 93 from sunocc in my R and banshee. if its all stock you can probly run the 90 stuff.
