Can some one tell me how to change the shift forks, I think that's what they are called, on my '03 400 ex.

Thanks

Too many steps to explain, you need a manual. Is it slipping out of gear when you hit the throttle? Could be the gear dogs are rounded over? Either way it has to come apart.

So basically just pull it apart and find out what it is cause i dont know whether or not its the gear dogs...Thanks for your reply

You got it. Take pictures, draw sketches etc. there's an order to the madness and it sucks trying to put something back together from memory. Most likely it's both. Shift fork wear allowed the gears wiggle room, which starts the dogs rounding over and gear slippage. I had this exact problem on a 700NighthawkS. The manual saved me huge headaches.

If it is the shifter that is broke you will have to split the case,.... great design Either way you will be into the case while you are there might as well but in a cam and hi compression piston.....
