i own a 400ex. when and what needs to be greased. I heard the swing arm bolt should be takin out every year n greased. What else should be greased. also what grease should i use

You should grease the a-arm pivot bearings, shock mounts, swingarm (linkage if you have it), and thats about it. I think the carrier is a sealed bearing. I use marine grease. Bey-Ray makes a "waterproof" grease if you want to spend more money.
Hope this helps, Mike -

Grease the rear brake lever shaft too. I learned the hard way, toasted a brand new set of pads in about ten minutes because it stuck.
And the steering stem bushung, near the top of the stem.

I ride in alot of muddy water (no choice), so I will try to grease-up beginning of season and once in the middle of the season. Use marine grease because it is thicker and doesn't wash out as easily. Good point about the rear caliper, mine was in rough shape also, block-off plate would probably solve.

Oh, you mean't the actual brake pedal lever pivot. I still have the E-brake hooked up on the caliper, inside that can also bind up.
