How long did they stay looking that nice??
Posted by: shamisc
They still look good. I just use Rustoleum Industrial Coatings black and touch them up as needed. I get alot of compliments on them. They are 20x11x9 rears.

You guys got the right idea to keep the outer lip silver. I had my stockers on my old 250 pc'ed black and it looked awesome...but obviously the outer lip wore a little faster.
Nice pics guys...black rims still look badazz!

did u paint them with a rattle can ??
with the tires on or off??
And did u just tape off the parts u didnt want to paint?
(just where that little.... dip thing is inside the rim ?)
Posted by: shamisc
Yes spray. Without tires on, but if you tape them up good it shouldn't be a problem. And yes in that little dip is where I stopped the paint.

yep, i have over a mile of XC track in my back yard, just a place to ride without packing everything in the trailer. I also live within riding distance of a top notch MX facility and XC course so im happy as a mofo
Posted by: AC 400 ex 02
damn ur lucky!
i have nada to ride around here, kinda wish i did an xc setup for all the trails, but i went with mx for racing but for riding off the track not the many trails around here fit a 49.5" quad that well, and not to mention 18" klaws for the rock sections
Posted by: Pappy
my trails here at home are tight. mainly the kids practice on them and in some sections im rubbing bark with the nerfs.
alot of the XC tracks are going wider, infact the local track is wide enough for +2 arms with 4-1 rims as are most gncc races these days. i reckon times are changing!
Posted by: AC 400 ex 02
sweet deal, sometime i may make the change over to xc, would +1 houser lt's and my 4-1's work well for xc or just go w/ +2?
Posted by: Pappy
it would depend on the track or course you plan to run. i know jeff and the mid south boys say the tree's are so tight that they get splinters in their elbows
it seems to me the trend is to have a touch wider course then what was acceptable just a short time ago. i think as long as your at 47 inches or under you shouldnt do too bad. i have a set of +2 arms with my name on them at Burgards, but I wanted to do some measureing beofre i swapped them out with the stockers.
if your not sure, id say go with +2 and get the narrow inset set up for any trail riding you may want to do, then have a set of stock offset ready for the MX tracks!

lol the mid south boys
that sounds like a plan to me

so spray painting will work for the wheels?
how does it hold up like do u have to touch it up after evry ride?
thanks!
