iwas wondering if anyone had any idea s on how to fix the linkage on the z 400. i race alot of harescrambles and gncc events in he a class. it seems every time i race i have to buy new linkage and it s getting pretty expensive. i have skid plates and all that. i was just wondering if anybody had an idea. my buddy said to relocate my shock mount on the frame and run a 400ex rear shock and linkage. then build a new swing arm for the shock to work.

Never broke mine or heard of any problems with them breaking.

What shock are you running on the rear?

stock rear, axis dual rate dual adj. fronts.

how about the Elka link and shock???

anyone have any info for treebasher on the Yokely set up???

William has never broken one, he runs the Elka linkage. To be honest I have only seen one stock linkage brake since I have been building skidplates. It was on a 400EX, not a Z400.

You might have other problems.......

Lee, I bet your slamming some serious rocks out there in P.A. causing the linkage to break.

yea i am hitting rocks. i bent the the small u shaped piece of linkage to the left. it bent about 1 inch. it caused my shock bolt to hit the inside of the linkage and lock up. the rear shock was stuck. i got new stock linkage from east coast. i guess i should slow down in the rocks.

do you have a fullcoverage rear skid plate or the two piece that lets your linkage get hit PRM makes a nice .250 rear skid now it is a little heavy but works real good atv addiction has them for 99 bucks good luck

Big Rocks SUCK

I saw the PRM skid on a friends machine and had to buy one the same day. Those things are nice and beefy, plus they protect your shock linkage nicely....many other brands don't cover it or require you to buy a seperate piece. Definitely take a look at PRM!

just installed the new PRM Z-plate on mine, much better design than the older PRM I had

The new prm rocks It is the only way to go!!!!!!!!!!!

Installed my new PRM today. Fit and finish are great and the plate seems to be built like a brick school house! Great product.

i got it fixed. i used a piece of c channel and cut it to lenth. i drill 2 small holes in the linkage and it works good. it survived roush creek and the wisp. no prob. i drill the holes in the linkage so rocks can t shear off the bolts. in case somebody wanted to no why i did that. and no it did nt make it weak. thanks for all the ideas.

I love PRM products, but with the Elka rear linkage I can't use that set-up. The linkage now sits lower than the skid plate cut-out. I had to go to a Pro-Armor set-up.
