Get a Z400 you will be happier.

go with the ds you won't find a smoother riding quad!
the power also comes on smooth.

i dont like those at all i think they way to heavy and look very tall
where in mass u live

Soo big!! and heavy. I think thre are better choices for a trail quad. 450ex, Z400, better yet a YFZ. If you are a bigger guy get a predator. The ds is great in wide open spaces but to big for trail riding. DS = dunes, wide open spaces

a kid in town here use to have one...said it was absolutily amazing every where he rode it except trails....said it was way to big and heavy....

One of my friends we all ride with has one. They have amazing power, and they are the most comfortable quad I have ever sat on, but it isn't worth a crap in the trails.

I own a Predator so I'll tell you what I know. It's the perfect XC quad. It beat out VForce, DS650, and Raptor in a shootout.

It has more suspension travel than any other machine and basically comes with the best stock suspension and best stock tires.

I like to ride MX style and do a lot of technical riding and jumping, so the Predator isn't entirely for me, but whenever I ride XC it's just perfect.

The only thing that gets me sometimes that you need to be careful of is the *** end is really squirrly, but also attributes to the best handling and tightest turning radius. One could only dream of a 350lb Predator.

I'll be picking up a TRX450 or YFZ450 soon at this rate just because of my riding style. I'm 6"0 and 190lbs. Predator has a good size and feels good.

I.m 5'6" and 170lb I never thought the ds was too big or heavy ecept when stuck! my old raptor was harder to ride then my ds.

I have never had a problem on the trails, most people can't even keep up with me when I turn on the juice

I have one I want to sell right now. Here is what I can tell you about it:
Great front brakes, underpowered rear
It's a tank
Awesome power, likes mid-high rpm's
Best stock suspension I have ever ridden, trails, MX, everything feels wonderful
Quiet exhaust good for the neighbors
Light *** end
a little tall feeling
awesome seat and the wrap-around front is the best idea ever
twin spark plugs and coils seem unnecessary
tons of wiring under the bodywork
good cooling system
chintzy air filter
somewhat difficult oil change (takes 4 quarts of oil, reservoir is under headlight and makes draining a mess until you make your own funnels)
weak battery box
right front shock shaft bent on me after a 75' jump, upper left a-arm cracked and separated at the ball joint, easy welding fix

Overall, sweet quad. I rode in the woods a lot, but I love MX, and it is just a bit too heavy for it. That is the only reason I am selling.

if you get a DS650, a longer swingarm will massively improve your ride quality and handling. Magazines have noted the shortened swingarm hurt the machine.

anyways what you should do since you want an open class machine is go read some different shootouts and make sure the DS650 is what you want. word is it's an awesome duner. that Baja X package looks really nice too.

just don't buy a V-Force

i would switch to the KFX 700. it is just as powerful. but i dont know if u would like the automatic trani>

Posted by: bulkdriverlp

i was told by a guy that weighed 340 and he said it went over woops like a dream. ur only 170 i think thats too much suspension, i dunno. theyre real heavy and kinda crappy looking if ya ask me. another good one is the craptor, but i dont like em. or the predetor is a good choice for you since your not that heavy. have massive power and good suspension. food for thought! ed

i've decided to keep my 300 for a year or so and race it then get a 450R!!!

Posted by: 400ex_drummer

in a year the suzuki 450 will probably be out, u might wanna take a look at that.
